The genesis of the project
The project is born from a common passion for exploration, the study of biodiversity and an unlimited curiosity about the world around us. Very quickly, our team, made up of Anatole, Arnaud, Matthieu and Chloé, was formed and the figure embodied by Darwin then seemed obvious to us: and why not follow in his footsteps?
After more than a year of preparation and the creation of our BEAGLE association (coming from HMS BEAGLE, ship of C. Darwin's expedition), we are finally ready to embark on the adventure, on January 17, 2023!
THE EXPEDITION
"In Darwin's footsteps"is a 6-month scientific expedition that takes place in South America through 5 emblematic countries of Charles Darwin's voyage around the world: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru (if the political situation allows it) and finally Ecuador with the Galapagos as the ultimate destination.

Arraial do Cabo
Les Biologistes du laboratoire d'écologie et de conservation des récifs
De gauche à droite : Ana-Clara, Naisa, Alexia et Juliana. On a eu la chance de pouvoir plonger avec ces 4 biologistes de la vie marine qui effectuent leurs travaux de terrain dans la baie de Arraial do Cabo. Chacune d’elles mène ses propres investigations sur le terrain. De l’impact du changement climatique sur la diversité des poissons à l’écologie acoustique des poissons... les thèmes sont vastes ! NB : Une équipe exclusivement féminine est assez rare dans le milieu de la biologie marine !
